A major demolition and enabling package in Watford: breaking out and grubbing up deep buried structures, processing reinforced concrete, and crushing arisings into reusable aggregate on site. This page is a running diary — we add to it as the job moves on.
The crusher kept turning demolition arisings into aggregate stockpiles while the excavators worked the deep dig, grubbing up reinforced concrete foundations and old basement walls within the retained excavation.
The tracked crusher arrived and got straight to work. Excavators charged it with broken-out concrete across the cleared platform, producing large stockpiles of crushed material for reuse — recycling the site's own arisings instead of carting them away.
Massive buried mass-concrete and brick foundations came out with the breaker, with water dust suppression keeping the site clean inside a hoarded town-centre compound.
The job began with our 14-tonne JCB 140X stripping and breaking out the existing car park for reconstruction.
