M.Smithson LTD delivered the complete external works around a new modular building compound at Shepshed, Leicestershire: excavation and breaking out of existing surfaces, formwork and compacted sub-bases, drainage runs and linear channels, engineering brickwork and fresh tarmac surfacing.
The works wrapped tightly around the new building, a substation and existing retaining walls — every drainage run, chamber and surface had to land precisely against what was already there, with multiple mortar-bedded access covers finished flush into new tarmac.
From first dig in early June to finished black-top in early July, the compound was handed over drained, surfaced and snag-free. A tidy, self-delivered package — our own JCB 16C-1 with breaker, plate compactors and crews from start to finish.
