Drainage & Tarmac Reinstatement

The Job

M.Smithson LTD was appointed to carry out drainage excavation, utility installation and full tarmac reinstatement at a school in Marple, Stockport. The works involved excavating through an existing playground surface to install new foul drainage pipework, before reinstating the surface to match the existing finish.

The Challenge

The site was a live, operational school — meaning tight working windows, strict segregation between our works and pupils, and a spotless handover expected at the end of every shift. Access was constrained and the excavation ran close to existing buildings and services.

The Result
